GTA 6 Gameplay Features Confirmed & Cut
GTA 6 lets you play as both Jason and Lucia, even switching mid-mission, in a Leonida that reacts to what you do. Here’s every gameplay feature Rockstar has confirmed, plus the one it cut for being too realistic.
Dual protagonists: Jason & Lucia
You play as both Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a criminal couple. Rockstar says you can swap between them mid-mission, for example switching between driver and passenger in the middle of an action scene.

Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson says Leonida responds to what you do. Walking down the street openly carrying a rifle gets people and police reacting, rather than being ignored.
Body, food & the gym
What Jason and Lucia eat changes their weight, and working out at the gym builds visible muscle. Skip sleep for too long and tiredness shows on their faces.
Fuel up and charge EVs
Cars need fuel, and electric cars need charging. Rockstar knows it may split opinion but is keeping it for realism.
Fridge & grocery restocking (cut)
Rockstar built a system where you bought groceries and restocked the fridge at home, then removed it to balance realism with fun. Rob Nelson confirmed the cut.
In-game social media
Working social feeds are part of the world. Rising stars like the rap duo Real Dimez show up through viral posts as their careers take off.

Single-player first
GTA 6 launches as a single-player game. GTA Online (for GTA 5) keeps running, and GTA 6’s online mode hasn’t been dated.
A living state, not just a city
Vice City plus the Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga, each with its own culture, food and routines.
